After a big day of constructing the body of Automaton's score yesterday, I was more in tweak mode today (also trying to figure out the best way to handle the song's intro section).
The intro and outro sections of Automaton are more free-running than the song body, so rather than a specific number of bars at a set tempo I'm going with a single bar timed out to a given minutes/seconds value (see image). Crescendos and diminuendos (crescendi and diminuendi?) are also timed in seconds, using an @ symbol to mark their start relative to the beginning of the section.
On top of this score work I also started mixing the recorded vocal parts in Logic (actually, I started this yesterday, but made almost no progress after spending time fixing an obscure problem with output channel strips). This all leads up to Monday, where I'll trek to London to have a session on the organ (I've already started an organ to-do list).
