Getting into it on day 3, and really enjoying using the Maschine Studio. Today's idea is called Satellights, a jaunty little number set in an 11/8 time signature.

That very fact is good news for the Maschine: when I realised I had crafted a sample that looped in a time signature not used often in electronic/dance music I feared that some significant work lay ahead. My fear was unfounded though as the Maschine software can handle unusual time signatures (unusual for pop/dance music at least) with apparently no problem.

Also, performing on the Studio is great fun, with the pads feeling very expressive. I'm not needing a musical keyboard as much as I might have expected – perhaps the only thing missing from the hardware is a pitch bend/mod wheel combo... maybe such a thing exists as a standalone unit?
