ThoseStrings
Like the final crumpet of the packet being placed in the toaster and subsequently devoured, CreativePact 2016 has concluded (for the record, there is no significance behind the crumpet metaphor, I was just thinking about breakfast). I decided to go easy on myself and create a string part using one of Live's instruments.
"But wait Adam. What about Push's ribbon controller?" I hear you ask. It's true, I have basically neglected this really useful feature of Push – it is something I miss when using Maschine also, and wish somebody out there made a standalone pitchbend/mod wheel combo. (Wait, didn't I already request such a thing back in 2014?)
Dreaming aside, I did utilise the Push's ribbon this time, doing some pitch slides and, benefitting from the actual lack of a wheel, pitch taps (check out the mean automation in the picture below). Notably, considering my status as a recently-confirmed Soundtoys fan boy, I also used only Live effects this time round.
So there we have it. 31 days, 4 solid ideas, 2 potential starting points, 1 linker and a couple of experimental write-offs. Not bad stats for a Pact. I'll come back to epilogue this epic journey at a quieter time. Until then I leave you with the most annoying sound in the world.
